December 2011 - Valves for cavitation-free regulation

December 1, 2011

Which valves can be used for cavitation-free regulation?

Plunger valves are special control valves designed particularly for control purposes in the supply of water. In contrast to shut-off valves and butterfly valves, which normally perform purely shut-off regulation operations in pipeline systems, plunger valves meet the special requirements of regulating operation. Plunger valves are mainly used when volume flows are to be precisely dosed or when water pressure is to be exactly regulated or decreased.

Cavitation can be avoided with suitable flow cartridges for plunger valves. These cartridges are individually designed according to existing operating conditions. Experts in the VAG Group will design the flow cartridges for you. If you wish to design them yourself, the VAG UseCAD® with the VAG design program will be of help.
