What is the advantage of valves with seals authorised according to W270 requirements?

One of the most important aspects for drinking water installations is the choice of suitable materials. The materials and products must meet a wide variety of technical and mechanical requirements and, more than anything else, they also have to be completely hygienic. In order to ensure that they are, the materials and products are tested for the growth of micro-organisms in view of the migration of chemical substances. The German Association for Gas and Water, known as the DVGW, sets high standards for the areas of gas and water. For example, authorisation is conducted for use in drinking water systems, such as W270 authorisation. Elastomers do not allow for the development of contamination and are thus ideal for use in drinking water networks.
